The Short Version

PageWright runs entirely on your computer. We don't collect, transmit, or store any of your data.

What PageWright Does

PageWright is a local desktop application. When you use it, the software connects directly from your computer to your FTP, FTPS, or SFTP server. All file editing, previewing, and management happens between your machine and your hosting provider. No data passes through our servers.

Credentials

Your server credentials (host, username, password) are stored locally on your computer in an AES-256 encrypted file. They are never transmitted to us or any third party.

Live Preview

The Live Preview feature fetches pages from your own website URL so they can be displayed in the preview pane. These requests go directly from your computer to your site. No proxy servers or third-party services are involved.

Analytics and Telemetry

PageWright contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking of any kind. We have no idea how you use the software, how often you use it, or what sites you connect to.

Network Connections

PageWright only makes network connections that you initiate:

PageWright does not make background network connections or transmit data automatically. PageWright's optional "Check for Updates" feature (Help menu) contacts pagewright.net only when you explicitly trigger it.

The Website (pagewright.net)

This website is a static informational site. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, time on site, referral source). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Downloads and optional contributions are processed by LemonSqueezy, who acts as the Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

AI Features

PageWright's AI features (chat, security scanner) require you to provide your own API key and explicitly opt in. When you use AI features, your code is sent to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) for processing. No code is sent without your action. Your API keys are encrypted and stored locally on your computer — they are never transmitted to PageWright or any third party.
